Our Mission
Women’s Independent Networking Group for Success (WINGS) connects women growing their businesses and promotes them through networking by providing support, education, and training. We encourage professional and personal development, building relationships, community involvement, and elevating women in business.
Our History
Originally formed as a chapter under the Women's Power Networking umbrella, our group quickly realized that the dues being paid to the national organization were not translating into benefits for our members. It was during a regular weekly meeting that the attendees recognized they had a strong core with a common desire of helping women succeed in business.
The women there that day talked about how they were in other networking groups made up of both men and women members, but agreed that there was a need for a networking group for women. Women connect differently, and working women lead professional lives that are different than working men. Only another woman could understand how we operate and could provide the support and experience that relates directly to other working women.
Our Vision
We believe that by providing opportunities for women to practice their 30-second elevator pitch, stand up and give a presentation of their goods and/or services, and enhance their networking skills, women are better prepared for real-time business situations. What better place to refine your techniques than among colleagues who truly wish for your success? Our weekly meetings allow for testing and learning, laughing and eating, while always discovering something new. We also support local causes and socialize after hours!
